Ricky Gervais’ brutal joke about Jaden Smith and mom Jada leaves fans thinking he’s ‘going to get a slap from Will’

Ricky Gervais’ latest savage joke about Jaden Smith and his mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, has fans convinced he might be the next comedian to get slapped by Will Smith.

The 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet was filled with bold fashion statements, but two looks, in particular, had social media buzzing – Bianca Censori’s nearly-nude ensemble and Jaden Smith’s head-turning headwear.

The 26-year-old musician rocked a $4,700 castle-shaped hat atop his black Louis Vuitton suit. Designed by Abodi Transylvania, the headpiece was reportedly inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathory family.

The striking look, which was described as a symbol of eternity, sensuality, and resilience, left social media divided.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) posted a picture of the ‘Icon’ rapper’s outfit with the caption: “And they say famous people are just attention seekers…”

Among the many reactions under the post was a particularly brutal joke from comedian Ricky Gervais, who couldn’t resist taking a jab at Jaden and his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith.

“Maybe he’s bald like his mum,” the 63-year-old quipped in the comments.

Gervais’ joke immediately sparked debate, as it was an unmistakable reference to the shocking moment at the 2022 Oscars when Will Smith stormed the stage and slapped Chris Rock over a joke about his wife’s shaved head, which she later revealed is down to her alopecia.

Now, three years later at the 2025 Grammys, the Karate Kid star arrived at the ceremony alongside his father, marking Will’s first major awards show appearance since the incident – which made Gervais’ jab even more brutal.

One fan quickly warned the comedian in a now-deleted tweet, which read: “You’re going to get a slap from big Will.” But Gervais, known for his unfiltered humor, didn’t seem worried as he simply responded: “Can’t wait.”

While Gervais’ joke stole the spotlight, Jaden’s fashion choice had already sparked plenty of online chatter.

“Jaden Smith is a 26-year-old man, this is what he wore to the Grammys tonight. Stop calling it art, stupidity must be mocked,” one person wrote on X.

“Somehow, Jaden Smith’s outfit is worse than Bianca Censori’s,” another user remarked, comparing it to Kanye West’s wife, who arrived nearly naked in a sheer dress.

In case you missed it, the 29-year-old shocked attendees with her see-through dress that left next to nothing to the imagination.

Following the red carpet reveal, social media exploded with criticism, with many users blasting Censori’s outfit as inappropriate, and stating that she should be “arrested” for public indecency.
