MANY parents struggle to maintain discipline in their home. But spare a thought for Jim and Susan Kowalczik whose main charge is a huge 1400lb Kodiak brown bear. The couple look after the 9ft giant at their orphanage where they have dedicated their lives to rescuing and releasing injured animals.
They now care for 11 bears, including Kodiak brown bears, Syrian bears and black bears on their 100 acre estate in Otisville, New York. Most were rescued as cubs from breeding programs or nature reserves that closed down. The key part of this video is that they are passionate but also have a place dedicated to the bears. They aren’t taking a bear out of the wild and putting it in their living room, they made this sanctuary where the bears can exist and thrive just in a different way. I really admire these people.
“You know better than that.” You tell them! Only way to ensure this guy’s safety, he needs to let the bears know that fighting around him or in general can really hurt them and you can tell the bear backs down instantly like a kid that got caught starting a fight with their sibiling lol! These two take care of these amazing animals so wonderfully.
I had a peculiar dream last night that I had a bear following me around and behaving as if it was my pet. I woke up and searched “tame bears” and this popped up ♡ How flipping cute is this family!??
This one almost made me tear up. Such a cool story. It warms my heart to know there is still some true kindness and love in this f*cked up world. I just about lost it when they introduced Jenny. Living embodiment of a real-life teddy bear! So sweet. Respect, love, compassion, and loyalty. So many people have become addicted to looking for (or perpetuating) the negative parts of life. The rest of the world could learn a thing or two from this family.
