Back in 1993, the house in which Jo lived was destroyed to the ground during a hurricane. Hundreds of families, including Jo and her neighbors, were left without a roof over their heads, having lost literally everything they owned that day. At the time, she had no idea how to survive what happened and restore her life.I thought she only had $5000 to spend. $2000 for the plane. $4000 to move it. TO A LAKE (Overlooking it with a concrete counter balance structural foundation!) And $24,000 to retrofit it. Something doesn’t add up here.
Joe has done a WONDERFUL job restoring that old Boeing 727 into a cozy home, and ESPECIALLY with the nose and a large part of the fuselage jutting out over the beautiful lake! Her grandchildren will NEVER forget their experiences living with her in her Boeing 727 home!
What a great idea. If love the way it looks inside. It’s nicer,and bigger than most homes. The knotty pine walls gives it a log cabin look, only nicer. A mansion, she is talented as she wrote the plans herself. I live in an SRO and a room, so all that space looks so good, and it’s on a lake. I
A few years ago, an airport about 30 miles from me was giving away their old 1950s terminal, including the ATC portion on the roof, to anyone who would pay to move it. I wanted it so bad but moving it was several thousand dollars that I didn’t have. In the end, someone moved it to some mountain property for a cabin.
