Canadian WWE Fans Boo US National Anthem And Pat McAfee Is Furious

You never quite know what to expect when you go to a live event. Some people saw the unusual possibilities when they attended a WWE premium live event in Toronto.

The crowd had packed into the Rogers Centre to watch the WWE Elimination Chamber event. Many in attendance were Canadian, but it was an American-based event, so they sang the Star-Spangled Banner prior to the start.

Elizabeth Irving, an American singer took the stage to sing the US national anthem. At the very beginning, many fans from Canada began booing but as the song continued, it just got louder and louder.

One of the people who really stepped up to criticize those who were booing is Pat McAfee. He is a commentator for the WWE and an analyst for ESPN.

McAfee was at the announcer’s desk along with Wade Barrett and Michael Cole. He held nothing back when he responded after the main show got its start.

He said: “This is the most stacked Elimination Chamber that the WWE has ever had.” Then he turned his attention to what happened with the Canadian audience.

McAfee said: “Kinda sucks that it’s in the terrible country of Canada that booed our national anthem to start this entire thing.” You could tell that he was getting heated, but it was a WWE event, so there was likely some drama built into it.

Logan Paul, a WWE superstar walked into the ring later in the night carrying the American flag. Many people also booed from the stadium at this time and even gave some rude hand gestures from alongside the ring.

Many people on Twitter shared their thoughts about the boos from the crowd. Some were shocked that they were paying for an event produced by an American company but were still willing to show their disrespect.

Others pointed out that the singer did a great job keeping up with the anthem, holding her composure in the face of opposition.
