Come Dine With Me star who put whisk in mouth reveals horrific thing that happened when someone recognised him

Ask any member of the British public to name the first thing which pops into their head when you mention Come Dine With Me and it will either be Peter Marsh’s ‘What a sad little life Jane’ rant or the bloke who shoved the business end of a whisk into his gob while making a cheesecake.

You know the moment we’re all talking about, you don’t even need to be a fan of the series to have seen the clip, which has since gone viral across the internet an infinite number of times over.

Watch the clip below to refresh yourself with the iconic moment below:

The man behind the moment is wedding DJ Kev Riley, who appeared on the Channel 4 series in 2013 when it came to Burnley. Kev’s menu involved creating a malted milk cheesecake from scratch.

The DJ winged his cheesecake from the start, chucking in an unmeasured amount of cream cheese and having to restart after spotting chilli flakes in his pan, however, all of this has since been eclipsed by a split-second decision to perform the most unorthodox taste-testing on camera.

Over 10 years on from the moment and the internet is yet to forget about about Kev, with his face even making its way onto a flag at Glastonbury festival.

The notoriety has also led to Kev being easily recognisable – however, not always with positive results.

Speaking about the darker side of viral fame in a new interview with MailOnline, Kev revealed that he was once ‘randomly punched’ while on a night out with his wife.

“I was having a nice night out with my wife in Burnley a while ago [and] this bloke came up to me and asked if I was the bloke from Come Dine With Me and the whisk,” he recalled.

“I said yes and he just punched me in the face. It was awful really. I was with my wife and we were just having a nice evening.

“It’s a real shame. I also ignore a lot of comments on social media. It was a laugh and some people have taken it in different ways.”

Fortunately Kev’s experiences with fame haven’t all been negative, as he’s even been recognised by people while on holiday abroad.

“It’s just been incredible. It still is, even after all of these years I am getting fame for it. It doesn’t go away. It keeps going viral,” he said of the moment.

“It is like being a full-time celebrity. It was filmed in 2012 and broadcast the year after and I’d say there’s been more fame in the last year or so because of TikTok.”

The infamous meme could have been even longer if the speech wasn’t cut short

One of the most iconic reality TV moments could have been even bigger and better.

Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me has provided TV viewers with some of the best memes, some questionable looking recipes and some moments of pure TV gold.

One particular Come Dine With Me moment that TV viewers won’t ever forget came from contestant Peter Marsh, who seven years ago came out with the perfect retort while insulting a fellow diner.

Not only did his dead pan delivery see the moment become enshrined in TV history but it sparked thousands of memes, using his now infamous speech: “Enjoy the money, I hope it makes you very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little life, Jane.”

Yet, it turns out his rant was even longer, as he actually said more but it was lost during the editing of the 2016 TV show.

The actual moment came at the end of the week as the four contestants gathered to see who had won for the Channel 4 show, with Peter given the role of reading out the rankings from last to first to his fellow diners Jane, Adam and Charlotte.

Unrolling the scroll with the results, Peter announced: “In fourth place is me.”

A shocked Peter then shook his head as Jane responded: “I don’t know why you’re shaking your head at me.”

Peter’s then infamous rant began as he said: “You won, Jane. Enjoy the money, I hope it makes you very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little life, Jane.

“You ruined my night completely, so you could have the money. But I hope now you spend it on some lessons in grace and decorum, because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.”

The other diners were left in shock at his words, with Charlotte adding: “I don’t get it.”

An angry Peter then dealt his final blows as he hit out: “Well, you wouldn’t. Let’s be honest, there’s nobody in there, love. So Jane, take your money and get off my property.”

However, there were a few sentences missing from the iconic scene. Adam Mastroianni, who was also in the same group as Peter, has revealed Peter’s tirade was actually longer.

The rant from Peter was actually edited to be shorter, and he said more explosive lines to his fellow diners. (Channel 4)

Speaking to the Independent, Adam described the experience as ‘surreal’. He said: “In fact, I couldn’t look directly at it – that’s why I was staring off into the distance during his whole rant.

“You can see me look up at one point to make eye contact with the producer, as if to plead with him, ‘Can’t you shut the camera off?’ Of course they wouldn’t, because the producers were probably getting exactly what they wanted.”

“His words to me at the end of his rant, which didn’t make the cut, were, ‘Adam… you’re very funny, your food wasn’t great, it’s been a pleasure.'”

Following the TV moment becoming an instant hit with viewers, Peter was said to have been inundated with offers to appear on TV screens again but he’s always declined.

At the time the episode aired, he told The Mirror: “What’s shown is not all that happens and people will believe what they’re shown.”

Come Dine With Me contestant purposely serves meat dish to vegetarian after getting fed up

Come Dine With Me contestant purposely serves meat dish to vegetarian after getting fed up

Probably not the best way to treat a guest…

Lucy Devine

Come Dine With Me contestant once purposely served a meat product to one of their vegetarian guests after getting fed up with making alternative options.

And as you can imagine, it made for some pretty uncomfortable viewing. Take a look:

The Channel 4 cooking show has graced our screens since 2005, giving us many memorable moments – including that iconic line ‘You won Jane’.

Come Dine With Me has also served up many bitter spats and arguments over the last 19 years, but perhaps this incident stands firm as one of the most uncomfortable and controversial.

In a throwback episode from season 20 of the show, host Christian Woodall from Walsall came to blows with veggie Georgina, after telling her that he’s ‘strictly carnivorous’ and ‘basically only eats meat’ just minutes after they met.

For starters, Christian served up a prawn cocktail for the rest of his guests, and managed to rustle up a veggie alternative for Georgina.

Pointing to a pretty bleak-looking plate of mozzarella and tomatoes, he said: “It looks alright but I don’t really care,” adding that Georgina would be ‘cheap to take out’ because she only eats veg and cheese.

Host Christian made his feelings on one of his guests being vegetarian very clear.

Or so Christian thought.

Next up, Christian served a ‘vegetarian’ pasta bake, which he went on to coat heavily in parmesan cheese.

But the host obviously didn’t realise that parmesan contains meat – meaning it isn’t actually suitable for veggies.

The traditional way of making parmesan begins like any other – with cow’s milk. However, after heating, a product called rennet is added to curdle the mixture.

Rennet is an enzyme found in the stomach lining of calves and goats.

When Georgina points this out, Christian heads back into the kitchen muttering: “What does the bloody girl want, maybe I should put some meat on it as well for her.”

Georgina wasn't happy with her meal, which consisted of tomatoes, mozzarella and a pasta bake covered in a cheese that isn't suitable for veggies.

As the host brings the plate back to the table, Georgina could be seen staring at the dish as she noticed some flakes of parmesan.

Unsurprising, considering Christian had doused the entire casserole dish in parmesan.

Explaining that she wasn’t going to eat it, one of the other guests asked Georgina if she would like some of their roast potatoes instead.

Not realising the spuds were roasted in goose fat, Georgina transferred some onto her own plate.

Rather than giving her a heads up beforehand, Christian then revealed how the potatoes were cooked after she’d eaten them, much to Georgina’s horror.

“If you want to go hungry then go hungry, I don’t really care,” he said.

“You’re getting right on my wick to be honest. I think you’ve been very rude, you haven’t enjoyed anything, you’re too fussy to please.

“To be honest I couldn’t care less whether you ate it or didn’t eat it.”

Georgina ended up in tears following his comments, and decided to score Christian with just one point for his ‘efforts’.

At the time, people were utterly horrified, especially fellow veggies.

One said: “Apparently vegetarians are expected to like all vegetarian food and have no dislikes,” while another joked: “The perfect host, sensitive to other’s needs.”

Others, though, thought the episode was TV gold and couldn’t wait to re-watch it.

Naked Attraction star reveals shocking amount of time contestants stay nude for

Naked Attraction star reveals shocking amount of time contestants stay nude for

It’s way longer than you probably think

Michael Slavin

If you were to ask me which reality show I’d least like to appear on, by a far, far distance it would be Naked Attraction.

Forget the real-life Squid Game, the pressure of being on Love Island, the bugs and fish guts of I’m A CelebNaked Attraction is easily the most daunting.

For those living under a rock, Naked Attraction is a Channel 4 show that has been airing since 2016 in which a clothed contestant picks from six naked potential dates whose features are revealed bit by bit from the bottom up.

Despite many people feeling like the show would be their worst nightmare, it receives thousands of applications every season.

Ignoring the core question of ‘what part of yourself is it most embarrassing for them to say no to you on, your private parts or your face’, the idea of standing naked for a half hour TV show is terrifying.

For those who don’t know, filming a half hour TV show may sound like something that can be bashed out in an hour tops, but it actually takes nearly a whole day.

Filming for episodes can take as long as 12 hours according to The Daily Express, and contestants have to be nude before filming even begins.

A former contestant called Gavin revealed his experience on the show as a contestant, saying: “It’s a long day. They do some hair and make-up and then you get to meet the people you’re up against.

Gavin appeared on Naked Attraction (Channel 4)

“You’ve got about two hours of standing in a box until it all starts. It ended up being from seven in the morning to three in the afternoon to film half an hour of television.

“They come round and take loads of pictures for the mash-ups. It was quite a lengthy process, but enjoyable.”

The thought of having someone judge my junk is scary enough, let alone every cameraman on the entire lot spending up to 12 hours staring at it.

If you thought that being the one picking who they want to date from the lineup of naked men or women was the easier job, this has simply confirmed it.

The Daily Express stated that, in actual fact, the person picking only has to be naked for 15 minutes of the whole day.

Even this would be too much for many, but without a doubt easier than 12 hours spent in the nude waiting to be picked or not.

If you were worried you’d get too excited however, it was recently revealed that they have things in place if this happens.

Host Anna Richardson said on the Andy Jaye Podcast: “We did have a couple of seasons ago, there was a young man who I think might have been in the pink pod.

“He was getting a little bit excited about what was about to happen.

“So our lovely floor manager, Dave the floor manager, had to go ‘come on’ and just had to escort him off the floor for a little while, just to calm down.

“And then he was brought back onto set. It always happens. Boys being boys you can’t control your anatomy can you? So, there’s been a little bit of excitement.”

‘Drunk’ undercover Brit investigating sexual harassment in Magaluf reveals secret signals she had to keep her safe

Undercover journalist Ellie Flynn opened up on a horrifying moment in a new Channel 4 documentary

Warning: This article contains discussion of sexual harassment which some readers may find distressing.

A journalist who went undercover in Magaluf to investigate sexual harassment has revealed the secret signals she had in place to keep her safe.

Ellie Flynn created a new documentary with Channel 4 titled Magaluf Undercover: Predators and Parties in which she pretended to be drunk to show the predatory nature of many men who go to the party holiday destination.

Flynn’s efforts went viral following a horrifying clip in which a group of men, after commenting that she is ‘wasted’, say ‘let’s go for it’.

This came after one of them sat on a sun lounger with her and said this was his ‘last chance’ and asked if she wanted to ‘kiss for a little bit’.

In an exclusive interview with Flynn, we spoke about that shocking moment, and the secret signals she had in place to keep her safe.

When asked about the moment she realised she was surrounded by three men, the clip of which has gone viral, she said: “It just really, really startled me, because I couldn’t see where the first two had gone.

“I didn’t know if they were behind me. I didn’t know if they were all surrounding me. It’s really, really dark. You can’t really see anything on that beach.

“There’s no lights in that area. All of a sudden it just felt like I was outnumbered.”

Signals she used to keep safe

In the clip she uses one of the secret signals to indicate to security watching nearby that she wanted the interaction to be over, but you might not notice what it is she does.

In our interview, when asked about how she kept safe, she said: “Before we went, we had loads of conversations… so we were all really, really clear on what our red lines were.

“If it looked like anyone was sort of touching me, and I wasn’t able to kind of get up, if I was sort of pinned down at any point or anything like that, you know, to quite extremes, then obviously security would have intervened straight away.

“Otherwise, I had signals, like I would stand up, I would sit up, I would say something, and that would be the security’s cue to intervene.

“But obviously, for our journalistic purposes, we have to be sure what people’s intents are and we have to be sure what is happening in this situation. With that last day, the signal was just for me to stand up.

“If I stood up at all, I had a word that I could say if I wasn’t able to stand up, and that was what I did as soon as soon as I couldn’t see where the other two men were, and I didn’t know how many of them were around me, I just stood up straight away.”

Ellie also revealed that the team would also communicate via WhatsApp with her able to see it on her phone despite acting ‘drunk’.
