Jake and Logan Paul leave fans with questions after sharing new ‘fight’ announcement

Brothers Jake and Logan Paul appear to have made an announcement about their next ‘fight’ – and it’s left fans baffled.

The former YouTubers have made a successful pivot into combat sports in recent years, with Jake coming out on top against boxing legend Mike Tyson in a recent bout.

Ever since ‘The Problem Child’s’ victory over Tyson boxing fans have been speculating about who is next opponent may be – and it seems like the 28-year-old may have just ‘confirmed’ it.

Taking to social media, Jake shared a post which suggested he would be facing off against his very own brother in the ring.

“The moment you’ve waited a decade for… March 27th on @StreamOnMax,” he wrote on X, alongside a poster of himself and Logan.

The post featured few other details, leading many people to question whether or not the fight was real or just a wind-up to generate publicity.

“Is this a joke???” one person replied to the post, while a second commented: “This is a lie.”

“Will it be a real fight,” a third added.

Logan has since shared the same post and caption on his X page, with HBO also reposting both of the brothers’ announcements – which means, fight or not, something is definitely happening on 27 March.

Jake currently holds a boxing record of 11-1, with his only loss being against Tommy Fury in February 2023.

Jake has yet to step into the ring or even announce a new opponent since beating Tyson back in November, with many people online believing that Conor McGregor would be his next opponent.

Logan briefly pursued a career in boxing, fighting the likes of KSI and Floyd Mayweather Jr, before switching to wrestling. He joined WWE on part-time basis back in 2022, previously holding the United States Champion belt.

Fans were also keen to point out that Logan’s March announcement with HBO would clash with a prospective appearance at WrestleMania 41 in April, casting further doubt on whether or not this would be an actual fight.

The clashing schedules also didn’t go unnoticed by fans, with many speculating whether or not Logan would be able to take part in the hypothetical bout.

“WrestleMania is 3 weeks after this. No way WWE approves Logan to fight,” one user pointed out.

“Wait Logan Paul is going to be promoting Max, which hosts WWE’s biggest rivals? [AEW],” another added.

Fight or documentary then? Guess we’ll find out in March.

With his fight against Mike Tyson postponed, Jake Paul has been looking for something to do, and it seems that something is thinking of other people he could be fighting.

After Tyson became unwell, his fight against Paul which had previously been set for July 20, was moved back so his pre-fight training wouldn’t be too badly disrupted.

Netflix said that Tyson’s health scare had ‘limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks’, so there won’t be a fight between them this summer.

Apparently the end of 2024 is a more likely time for the fight now, so it’s still supposed to be going ahead at some point.

While Logan Paul has said he’d be willing to step into the ring with his brother and duke it out as Tyson’s replacement, it seems more likely that the fight will be postponed.

Instead, the younger Paul sibling hopped onto social media to suggest a possible fight for February 2025, pitting himself against KSI and his older brother against Deji Olatunji.

This would be a switcheroo of the YouTuber boxing lineup that launched Paul’s career in boxing.

Cast your minds back to 2018, when Logan Paul fought KSI in Manchester, and remember that both boxers had their younger brothers facing off on an undercard.

While that first fight was deemed a draw, a professional rematch a year later resulted in a win for KSI over Logan.

Meanwhile, in Manchester, on the undercard, Jake defeated KSI’s younger brother Deji.

While Jake Paul asked people ‘y’all with it’, it seemed as though many were not with it at all.

One said that Logan fighting Deji would be ‘not fair at all’, and that KSI’s younger brother would be ‘way too small for Logan’.

“Weight classes don’t exist in this guy’s head,” said another.

See, the Paul brothers have fought as cruiserweights and thus are a weight class above Deji, who was a light heavyweight.

Someone else confidently declared that ‘none of what was mentioned in this tweet will happen within the next two years’, so it seems like boxing fans aren’t really buying this matchup.

Deji did spot that Jake Paul was trying to set up a fight between him and Logan, quoting the post with the eyes emoji.

Meanwhile, KSI gave his own response to Jake Paul’s attempts to stoke up a fight.

He said, “You asked for 185, Jake, you fraudulent t**t. The old folks home has run out of options. This is all just noise. You don’t really want to fight.

“December, let’s run it at 185. No bulls**t. No excuses.”

Jake Paul has confirmed a rescheduled date for his fight with Mike Tyson.

The highly anticipated boxing match between YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, 27, and Tyson, 57, was originally scheduled to take place on on 20 July at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

However, the match was thrown into doubt after Tyson suffered a medical emergency while on-board a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on 27 May.

It was reported that he had been feeling ‘nauseous and dizzy’ on the flight 30 minutes before landing. His representatives later confirmed that it was an ulcer flare up.

“He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him,” they added.

Tyson later issued an update to fans about his health, writing: “Now feeling 100 percent even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”

However, days later it was announced that the fight had been postponed.

Netflix was quick to reassure fans the fight would take place… just at a later date.

“Tyson’s recent ulcer flare up has limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks,” it wrote on X.

“The fight will be rescheduled for a date later this year after Mike’s able to resume training with no limitations and both fighters can have equal time to prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup!”

And now that later date was been confirmed, with Paul sharing exactly when it’ll take place in a post on X.

“New date, same place, same fate,” he penned, alongside a poster of himself and Tyson.

The fight is now set to take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on 15 November.

Following the announcement of the fight being postponed, Paul shared his own statement on social media, in which said he wanted Tyson to be healthy as he had ‘so much respect for him’.

He wrote: “Obviously devastating news, I’m heartbroken, speechless, like gutted.

“We’ve been working so hard over here, everyone in this camp, and I just feel bad for everyone involved in this event, the whole undercard, this opportunity has been ripped from all of us.

“But I do value Mike’s health first and foremost. Love that guy, I have so much respect for him and I want Mike to be healthy.

“He says he still is gonna knock me out and I bought myself some time, so Mike is still talking s**t over there, but Mike if you want to do this behind closed doors, behind the scenes you say you want to do this in Q4 you just need a little bit of time.

“I’m ready whenever you are, this is too big of an opportunity, I think this fight’s gonna change the world and I turn all my L’s into W’s.

“That’s the motto I live by, the universe makes no mistakes so let’s see what’s in store, but sorry this didn’t work out to everyone, the fans, love you guys.”

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have received their official suspension from boxing following their huge Netflix fight.

Last week saw the unlikely pair finally touch gloves at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in-front of 70,000 fans – plus many watching via Netflix – with 27-year-old Paul ultimately winning the bout via unanimous decision.

However, the two men shouldn’t be looking to put their gloves back on anytime soon, as they have since been suspended from the sport.

According to regulations followed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the pair are required to serve a suspension for 24 days after completing the eight round fight, following guidelines which suggest three days rest per round fought.

The suspension may sound a little dramatic at first, but the rules are in place to protect the fighters’ safety.

“Medical disqualification of a contestant is for their own safety and may be made at the recommendation of the examining physician or TDLR,” the regulations state (via MMA Junkie).

“A contestant who disagrees with a medical disqualification, medical suspension or rest period set at the discretion of a ringside physician or a disqualification or suspension set by the department may request a hearing to show proof of fitness.”

Meanwhile the event’s co-headliners Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will be on the sidelines for an even longer period of time, with The Mirror reporting that both women will serve a suspension of 45 days.

Paul has certainly been drumming up excitement for his next time in the ring, with the YouTuber-turned-boxer even calling out retired MMA fighter Conor McGregor on his social media accounts.

In the meantime, Paul has also addressed the decision not to knock-out 58-year-old Tyson during the bout, telling fans: “After I’d seen him tired I didn’t want to put too much hurt on him, but I wanted the fans to get a good experience.

“But there was a point where my aggression and violence went away when I wasn’t getting hit. I love Mike.”

The 27-year-old even bowed to his opponent once the fight had ended, seemingly as a show of respect for Iron Mike’s legendary career.

Both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have been suspended from boxing after their controversial Netflix bout.

Last night, (or this morning if you were watching in the UK) former YouTuber Paul managed to beat Tyson via unanimous decision – in a major blow to the 58-year-old boxing icon’s legacy.

Tyson was able to take the upper hand early on in the fight, but fatigue would ultimately get to him – meaning that 27-year-old Paul was eventually able to come out on top.

However, both boxers will be hanging up their gloves for a little while, as they are set to be temporarily suspended from the sport.

The fight took place in Dallas and was therefore licenced under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation – with the board implementing a condition in which the pair would both be suspended for a minimum of seven days to recuperate post-fight.

But the pair will be spending a little longer on the sidelines.

The guidance reportedly went on to state that each boxer should rest for three days per round fought.

Given that both Paul and Tyson were able to go the entire eight rounds, this means they will both be suspended from the sport for 24 days of rest in order to fully recover from the fight.

The reason for this is pretty straight forward, with the board of regulations stating: “Medical disqualification of a contestant is for their own safety and may be made at the recommendation of the examining physician or TDLR.

“A contestant who disagrees with a medical disqualification, medical suspension, or rest period set at the discretion of a ringside physician or a disqualification or suspension set by the department may request a hearing to show proof of fitness.”

However, we can’t imagine that either Paul or Tyson will be gearing up to book another fight anytime soon.

Not that the pair need to either, with both boxers earning enough to take the foreseeable future off.

According to reports, Paul banked around $40 million (£31.7 million) for the fight. Tyson, meanwhile, is said to have made $20 million (£15.8 million) from the night. Paul had even hinted at the pair making some pretty hefty bonuses on top that as well, which means both men can certainly put their feet up for a while.
